Global Reporting Initiative's Business Transparency Program
Introduction:
Chambers of commerce, industry associations, and multinational enterprises can empower their members and suppliers, and build capacity in sustainability reporting, by enrolling on the Business Transparency Program.
Many business networks are already promoting sustainability among their member companies and suppliers. By enabling member companies to report their sustainability performance, chambers of commerce, associations and multinationals can help their members and suppliers identify areas where they can improve, save and profit.
Step to success:
- Step One: GRI Certified Training (16 hours) introduces sustainability reporting and walks participants through the five-step process of preparing a report.
- Step Two: A series of Coaching Workshops and Number of Remote Supports.
- Step Three: A one-to-one meeting, for each participant to address specific issues in their own report.
Duration: The Program usually takes 12 months. After the course and workshops, participants produce their first sustainability report.
Costs: Depend on the business group’s size and the location of its companies, businesses and/or suppliers.
Program Value: Leading companies, businesses and/or suppliers recognize the value of sustainability reporting. Sustainability is linked to long-term value creation. A company can understand, preserve and increase its value by measuring its impacts on the environment, the economy and society.
